To celebrate another successful contract for my Nicky we decided to treat the fam to some BBQ at The County Line. I love the location at 2222….wonderful view of Lake Austin. What’s not to love about this city? Good food, good company…good night Austin!

I have great memories of working in my grandparent’s garden as a young girl (collecting potatoes from the dirt, picking okra, green beans…so many veggies). Every summer when we would visit we would help with one of the many gardens on the property. Now…I’ve started my own much smaller garden. I have beautiful roses growing beside my peppers, lettuce, cabbage, squash and tomato plants. I’ll have to send my grandma a photo of my garden & what I’m collecting from it to make her smile & to let her know she’s the reason for my inspiration. I also have some blackberries growing : ) I remember picking them from along the ‘road to grandma’s house.’ Then grandma would make the best blackberry cobbler…I can smell it cooking now! Thanks for everything grandma/grandpa!!

Strange visitor ‘nesting’ on our 4Runner this morning…not sure if he/she wanted a ride to the pool or the Austin Public Library so we took the Suburban instead. When we returned he/she was no where in sight.

Bugged out! Max, Lola & I came upon this interesting scene while leaving for the pool one day…of course I had to capture it for everyone to see! I’ve seen several of the ‘remains’ of this ‘deshelling’ process, but never ‘in the act!’ Pretty cool lesson for the kiddos & Lola didn’t even scream (which she does at the sight of any bug).
