Family Portraits in Cedar Park, Texas by Mindy Ravines Photography

OMG…I’m horrible at blogging. Truth is I typically like to wait until after the holidays to blog about a holiday session as I don’t want to ruin someone’s Christmas surprise (family portraits to a loved one I’m friends with on social media or….their holiday card image is released before the holiday cards are even mailed to their loved ones-deep gasp!!! NOT ON MY WATCH). Needless to say these are oldies, but goodies! I <<LOVE>> this family…their souls are warm and loving, playful parents bring out the best in their kids during a portrait session (proof below), and look at them…they are a beautiful couple with beautiful babies! XOXO

Holiday Portraits by Mindy Ravines Photography

Monday, January 1st, 2018

Photographing families is the best. Families that live in the moment & play are my absolute favorites. This family is near and dear to my heart. When I was pregnant with my first child I introduced the gorgeous couple. Fast forward a few years and look at the joy on their faces, the sweet babies they created, and the love that they share. My heart is full.

Julianna turns 1! Birthday portraits by Mindy Ravines Photography

Saturday, January 17th, 2015

This sweet baby girl is beyond  adorable. She reached out for me to hold her!! I melted….is there anything more sincerely sweet than a little one reaching out to you? Her cheeks were like butta (not to be confused with butter)…butta.

I wanted to play & cuddle the entire time of our shoot. Mom brought a smash cake that made Julianna’s eyes light up. At one point I thought she was going in head first….I was giddy with anticipation! She, being the little lady that she is, refrained & took to the scoop technique instead. Thank you for inviting me to share in these memories with your family Annalisa. I had a wonderful time meeting your beautiful family & can’t wait to see how adorable ‘toddler Julianna’ will be!! XOXO

I’ve known this family for 6 years….sIXyEaRs. WOW. Time flies….when children are involved.

We met when our kids started Kindergarten. Seeing the photos of Ripley was a bit of a ‘slap in the face-slash-reality check’ for me. I can’t believe how grown up she looks. What happened to little Kinder Ripley?!?! I hope my son still sees the ‘kinder version’ of Ripley…what are the chances of that?!? I LOVE the

Selecting an outdoor portrait location: by Mindy Ravines

Monday, August 4th, 2014

First rule of ‘Fight Club’…..oops!

Establishing an outdoor portrait location is the first thing on my ‘to-do’ list. Typically, the family is thinking ‘What will we wear?!?’ I like to determine the best ‘location’ look for the family based on what interests them.  This family knows me & I know them so it’s always easy finding a good fit ‘portrait backdrop wise.’ Monica had a few suggestions too (which I LOVE–I had no idea there’s a South Austin woman who painted her fence with cool Octopi Arms + a spaghetti monster!).  The boys loved it!!

My favorite location was the infamous ‘Hi, How are you?’ wall in Austin, TX. I LOVE the fact that Addison assumed the frog position…the imagination of a child is absolutely priceless! I find moments like that when a child feels comfortable to play & pose himself/herself the most rewarding for me!

Enjoy! XOXO
